The Karate suit or gi is worn by practitioners of Japanese Martial Arts. It consists of of a wrap-over Jacket and a pair of trousers with drawstring and/or elasticated waist. The jacket is secured by a cotton or satin belt.

The Karate suit usually comes in white, black or combination of either colour and is made of cotton or polyester. Most martial arts shops supply suits which are lightweight, mediumweight, heavyweight or extra-heavyweight.
